Providing the Solutions US Firms Need in a Risky, Globalized World
Institutional Investor Forums is pleased to have produced this annual event for senior corporate risk managers for more than 3 decades!
Over those thirty years, risk managers and their companies have been continuously challenged by events and circumstances. Some of those events and the attendant risks have stayed fairly constant — natural disasters and workers comp issues as two examples, arguably — but many new risks — cyber, terrorism, etc — have emerged and it's a fairly safe assumption that the exposures uppermost on risk managers' minds today are not those of yesteryear. Further, in our information-laded, globalized, rapidly changing reality the variety, scope and scale of firms' vulnerabilities as well as the sheer magnitude for truly catastrophic damage have increased dramatically.
Reflecting the changing world around them as well as within the evolution within their own companies, risk managers' roles have moved from a focus on mitigating risks through insurance coverage and other solutions to ones more focused on pre-empting the full range of risks now facing US firms. As with the risks, the solutions executives are demanding are different now: more complex, more innovative, more comprehensive, and yet more tailored and customized to the exposures US firms are facing in their domestic market and, increasingly, abroad.
Institutional Investor Forums' 30th Annual Risk Management meeting will continue to address the most pressing and timely issues facing risk managers and their companies. This year's program will continue our tradition of providing risk managers with the expertise and the solutions they and their companies require to succeed in a risky, globalized world. More than 50 senior risk managers from the largest US firms will convene as we explore the business topics and risk management needs that will have the greatest impact on their jobs and their companies in the year ahead.
